Czech Krumlov and surroundings

Czech Krumlov is a town and popular tourist destination in southern Bohemia and only 22 km southwest from Czech Budejovice.  The medieval city center, bisected by the meandering river Vltava, has been an urban conservation area since 1963 and an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.

The castle, called Czech Krumlov Castle, is one of the top tourist locations in the region and visited by over 300,000 visitors each season. A tour will introduce you to the castle, with impressive architectural features from the 16th - 18th centuries including rare Renaissance and Baroque frescoes.

The castle complex includes eleven acres of baroque gardens,  a castle tower with a dungeon and a lapidary with an exhibition of Baroque sculptures. The most important monument, a real jewel of theatrical heritage, is the world famous baroque chateau theater which is one of the best preserved European theaters of the 18th century with its original decorations, costumes, props and stage equipment.

No matter the season Czech Krumlov and the surrounding region is rich in cultural activities. There are several interesting places we can include on your itinerary along with Czech Krumlov, such as the picturesque Czech village Holasovice, a typical Czech farmhouse with local cuisine called Svachuv Dvur or a beer spa.
